Expert System Included in Gartner “Information Access Technology” Magic Quadrant 2007

9-21-2007

Expert System, the leading provider of semantic intelligence software that discovers, classifies and interprets text information, announced that analyst group Gartner has placed Expert System in the Gartner 2007 Information Access Technology Magic Quadrant report.

“By including Expert System in its Information Access Technology report, Gartner has recognized the strategic value achieved by semantic technologies in effectively managing unstructured data,” said Stefano Spaggiari, CEO, Expert System. “It is also rewarding Expert System for its effort in developing and marketing the first platform for deep linguistic analysis and natural language processing, which is widely employed today both in Europe and in the United States by several of the most prominent enterprises and government organizations.”

Why Semantic Technology? Semantics is a hot industry sector, a $2 billion per year market and projected to grow to over $50 billion by the year 2010. Leading analysts have estimated that 35-65% of System Integration costs are due to semantic issues. And in every sector of the market – software infrastructure and tools, methodology, internet based activity and support for implementation projects – both inside the enterprise, and across the Internet, our biggest software challenges come down to creating and resolving meaning. In other words: semantics. (Semantic Technoloy Conference 2007)
