TAL Conference 2006 at the Ministry of Communications

Mar 02, 2006

Presenting the most innovative tools for the automatic processing of language, and focusing on the contribution that they can offer in the areas of “free time, accessibility and intelligence”, through the accounts of direct experiences of authoritative users.

These are the main goals of the TAL 2006, the national congress on the Automatic Processing of Language organized by the Forum TAL, the permanent body of the Minister of Communications that has the aim of promoting the development of technological tools to support the language.

The conference will take place on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 March in Rome, at the Aula Magna of the Ministero delle Comunicazioni (Ministry of Communications), viale Europa 190 – EUR, and will be composed of three sessions, each one of them with important speakers coming from various public institutions and business companies.

Expert System, as founding member of the Forum TAL and of the committee for the program of the congress, has coordinated the organization of the session dedicated to intelligence, relying on the long experience in this area and on the extensive knowledge of the needs of the sector. Intelligence, intended as a set of organizations, resources and technologies to support both homeland security and company strategies (marketing/competitive intelligence), can benefit from the technologies for the automatic processing of language, optimizing the work of analysts and executives.

The prestigious speakers attending this session:

– Sen. Francesco Cossiga, Presidente Emerito della Repubblica Italiana (President Emeritus of the Italian Republic)

– Pirelli Security Director, Dott. Pierguido Iezzi

– Dott. Bruno Tinti Sostituto Procuratore di Torino (Assistant Public Prosecutor in Turin)

– Ing. Tommaso Bove, Dirigente del Servizio della Polizia Scientifica (Chief Executive of the Criminal Laboratory Department)

Expert System will be glad to receive guests at its stand, in front of the entrance corridor, that will be open during the whole congress. To our visitors will be distributed a free copy of Abecedario (Rubbettino 2002), the book written by President Cossiga about the world of Intelligence.

The participation to TAL 2006 is free, but places are limited and therefore subscription is requested.
